xine - multimedia library and player

xine plays or handles multimedia files and network streams.

Main part of xine is engine - library. This library is used in applications (user interfaces) - multimedia players and editors.

xine project contains library xine-lib and players:

• xine-ui (X11, aalib, libcaca, X11-less frame buffer)
• gxine (GTK2)
• kxine (KDE)
• xine-mozilla-plugin (mozilla plugin)

There are exist also other players based on xine:

• sinek (GTK2, currently not developed)
• totem (GNOME2)
• oxine (runs in window of xine)
• toxine (command line)
• flxine (fltk toolit)
• pyxine (python)
• kaffeine (KDE3) - really cool!
• ... and many others

• enix (experimental video editor based on xine)
